Get involved

Camden makes every effort to ensure children and families receive a high quality service.

The views of children, parents and carers are very important in making changes and improvements to our services.

There are many opportunities to give your views and to be involved. Please see below for some of the ways you can get involved and help make a change.

Camden Children in Care Council (CiCC)

The Children in Care Council (CiCC) provides a voice for children and young people in care and care leavers.

Young people are involved in making decisions on issues affecting children, young people in care and leaving care. Members of the CiCC have opportunity to give a feedback about their experience of the service, what is working well and what needs improving.

Most recently, this included: taking part in selection and commissioning of potential providers of Pathways services for care leavers, interviewing candidates for senior jobs in the Council, developing Backchat website for young people and the app for care leavers, training social workers and foster carers.

If you would like to find out more and get involved, please speak to your social worker or your PA (Personal Advisor).

You can also email Backchat "Talk to Us"

or [email protected]

Camden Reactive Forum

Reactive Forum is a group of disabled young people aged 13 to 18 and living in Camden.

The Forum provides an opportunity for disabled young people to have a say about what they think about services and influence strategic decision-making and service planning that affects disabled young people. The Forum also evaluates and gives views and feedback on service delivery across the Council and Children’s Trust partnership.

Young Inspectors

The Young Inspectors project is an annual programme and provides an opportunity for young people to give their views on children’s services, make recommendations for changes and inform the co-design of services.

The programme also provides young people with an opportunity to learn new skills, gain confidence, raise aspirations, increase motivation and self-esteem, gain work experience, enhance their CVs and provide an inspiration to other young people to participate in future inspections of services.

This project provides opportunities for young people to improve access to education, employment and training.
