Stop Child Sexual Exploitation - message from a young ambassador

On Friday 17th March 2017 there was CSE awareness raising event at Kings Cross and St Pancras International stations and surrounding areas.

Young people were involved in awareness raising activities.

Below is a feedback from one of the young ambassadors.

The leaflet distributing ran very smoothly. It was the most effective time to hand out leaflets, especially to parents with young children.

I found the peer advisor role (young ambassador role) to be highly effective. Many young people don't have a say in many sensitive topics such as CSE

It is important to get young people to educate other young people as well as to raise awareness of CSE. The role of ambassador enables young people to encounter an alternate environment outside of education, allows them to thrive and develop new skills, knowledge & attributes which are valued by employers.

I think, the young ambassador role should be more publicised - especially in schools, where PSHE is still embedded into the curriculum. It will empower young people to go on to educate friends, family & possibly adults.

The number to call for queries relating to becoming an ambassador is 020 7021 0301 which is Safer London’s number.

If a young person is worried about anything in relation to CSE (themselves or anyone they know) they should call Child line on 0800111.
