Safer Internet Day Quiz
On Tuesday 7th February 2017 is the Safer Internet Day.
Government together with industry has made a good progress on issues such as parental control filters and age verification. However, much more needs to be done to create supportive digital environment for children and young people.
Children’s Commissioner for England is making three recommendations to prepare children for digital life:
- To create a digital citizenship programme, to be compulsory in every school from 4-14
- To implement the intent of the General Data Protection Regulation, by introducing a simplified Terms and Conditions for digital services offered to children
- To introduce Children’s Digital Ombudsman to mediate between under18s and social media companies in complaints
