Meeting at Westminster

Posted on 26 June 2014

On the 11th of June 2014, an extraordinary meeting took place at Westminster for young people in care and care leavers. It was APPG meeting (All Party Parliamentary Group) led by young people in care.

The topic of the discussion was “ How should young people be involved in improving services for children in care and care leavers?”

It was the first time I attended this meeting and I was amazed to see children as young as 11 and young people from all over England having their say.

Edward Timpson MP, Children' Minister attended the meeting and it was good to see him give careful consideration to points of views of the young and old.

This is an excellent example of young people views being taken seriously by decision makers.
