Want to work in live broadcast?

If you’re aged 18-25 and not currently studying or working, get the skills you need for your career with mentoring from industry professionals on this FREE project.

Offering real experience broadcasting events and making promotional films, you'll gain the essential skills to succeed within a production company or as an independent filmmaker.

Develop creative and technical skills as a camera operator and editor over 11 days of workshops working with the latest industry standard equipment in the Roundhouse’s broadcast studios.

Gain real experience through 80 hours’ volunteering on broadcasts of live events, making promotional films and in post-production, and get the self-shooting skills that are essential to succeed within a production company or as an independent filmmaker. 

Is it for me?

  • You need to be aged 18-25 and not in education, employment or training to apply.
  • This is a FREE project taking place intensively over 4 weeks, so you’ll need to be available for every session which includes evenings & weekends (see dates below). 
  • Previous participants have ranged from the technically adept to the more creatively minded, you’ll gain lots of technical skills but you don’t have to be technical to apply!
  • Support is available to help with your travel and meal costs while taking part.

What are the dates?

Tour & intro: Tue 21 Jan, 7-9pm

Deadline for applications:  Mon 27 Jan, 10am

Interviews: Mon 3 Feb, 10am-5pm

Project dates: Mon–Fri,  10.30am-5.30pm,  from  17 Feb-21 Mar PLUS EVENINGS & WEEKENDS for filming.

What could I go on to do?

The programme has been running since 2009, and past graduates have gone on to roles at companies including BFI, Vice TV, Fallon Creative Agency, BBC, Nutopia, Mother, The Place, Archer’s Mark and the Roundhouse, and film and TV courses in higher education.
