The Armed Forces in London have offered Camden 45 free tickets to attend a performance of the British Military Tournament at Earls Court on Sunday 8 December 2013 at 4.30pm www.britishmilitarytournament.com.
The Armed Forces would like to provide an exciting experience to children and young people in care and have requested that free tickets are specifically given to looked after children aged 6-18 and those that care for them.
The tournament aims to provide a positive, inspirational encounter with the military, exposing them to a set of values that include a sense of purpose, confidence and pride.
The spectacular performance, which includes pomp, ceremony, music, action and entertainment, will conclude with a “British Legends Finale” – a tribute to injured serving and ex-servicemen, who have overcome disabilities to walk to the North Pole, row the Atlantic and compete in the Olympic Games. We hope it will inspire these young people.
There is also an exhibition area where visitors can view a variety of military equipment and meet Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen. Families are advised to arrive 1-2 hours before the official start time if they are to get the most from their visit.
To apply for tickets, please contact, Sarah McDonnell, by Friday 29th November 2013. Tickets will be posted on Monday 2nd December.
