Takeover Day on 22 November 2013

Posted on 14 November 2013

What is Children's Commissioner's Takeover Day?

Takeover Day gives children and young people the chance to work with adults for the day and be involved in decision-making. Children and young people benefit from the opportunity to experience the world of work and make their voices heard, while adults and organisations gain a fresh perspective on what they do.

In Camden, young people will have the opportunity to influence decision-makers and give the Council their ideas on how to tackle real issues in the borough such as harmful drinking, employment and food waste.  They will be working with different services and coming up with creative solutions and campaigns.

In teams the young people will present their ideas in the Council Chamber to Councillor Angela Mason, Cabinet Member for Children and Councillor Nasim Ali, Cabinet Member for Young People.

This is a chance for young people to gain experience of local government, public speaking, and problem-solving.
