Blackberry Scholars Programme – Global Women’s Initiative

Posted on 07 June 2013

The “BlackBerry Scholars Programme”, the first step in its global women’s initiative, is designed to inspire more women to enter and develop careers in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM). The programme will offer a select group of young women a full, four-year tuition scholarship to fund their undergraduate studies at a top university from September this year.  The prize is open to women with the potential to influence the future of mobile computing specifically those with a background in science and technology.
In addition to providing full tuition, BlackBerry will also offer each scholar a rigorous mentor programme and valuable professional opportunities. Scholars will be selected on academic merit and passion for the revolutionary potential of mobile computing and technology.

A panel of inspirational and accomplished women, led by musician Alicia Keys, will choose the applicants from the pool of nominations submitted before the deadline of 12 noon GMT on 26 June 2013.
More information about the programme, eligibility requirements, and how to apply, can be found at the following website: www.blackberry.com/scholars.

The BlackBerry UK team would love to see a UK winner of this prestigious award.
If you need more information from BlackBerry directly, please contact Liz Kanter on [email protected]

Kind regards,
Diane Abbott MP
