Revision - a few golden tips

Posted on 19 March 2013

At the moment anyone in Key Stage 4 is getting very busy with the final countdown to exams.  Hopefully revision is well under way, but never think it is too late to start!

A few golden tips

Attend all revision sessions. You have nothing to lose but the opportunity of lots to gain.

Create a revision timetable if you have not done so already. Stick the timetable somewhere where you can see it every day.

Make sure you have a list of all the topics in each subject.

Ask your subject teachers for help with the list.

Practise, practise and practise past papers. It doesn’t matter how much you know if you cannot put that knowledge in to an exam answer.

Remember to practise timed answers as well. If your timing does go wrong in the exam, bullet point your answer as you can still get marks for your ideas.

In GCSE exams no one takes marks away for wrong answers, so do not be afraid to give every answer a go even if you are not sure.

And finally this is a stressful time for you. You need to remember to look after yourselves get lots of sleep and eat well. Your brain needs you to do this so it can help you do all that revision. Always give yourself a little break after about an hour of hard work and try to stay focussed but unstressed.

We all wish you the very, very best of luck!
